- Overcoming the destitution of the poor, through the use of financial and social means that are adapted to each situation, to ensure that people live and don’t just survive.
- Giving families and individuals the chance to live, create, have confidence in the future, and bring up their children in a dignified fashion.

History
As from 1970, the founder members started to work on actions of solidarity to enable the poorest of people to discover their talents and overcome destitution. Groupe Développement is an NGO which works with around 100 local NGOs. On average, projects are followed for 3 to 5 years, with the aim of making the local NGOs independent by the end of this period. Despite awareness that no projects can be effective without having an overall vision, the main problem of the International Children’s Pole of Groupe Développement involves sexual abuse of children for profit.
To this end, several projects have been set up with the aim of preventing, saving and re-inserting children:
- Schools in rural areas
- Taking care of street children
- Vocational training for youths
- Access to micro-credit
