Actions in Morocco
Morocco holds the 126th place (out of 175) in the list of countries given by the UNDP in terms of their development. This places Morocco just in front of India. Big differences between rural and urban lifestyles, that have been made worse by a long period of drought, are at the origin of successive waves of rural exodus. In the suburbs of major towns, Morocco has some of the biggest shanty towns in the whole of Africa.
